Opinion article published on Expresso on 16 July 2016 about the lack of inclusion of Portuguese emigrants in the discussion of public policy in Portugal. Portugal has around 2.1 millions emigrants and another bit of descendants with a strong link to the country and yet Portuguese politics give little credit and space to tis large community to have a say in the definition of public policies in Portugal. The country desperately needs this input to overcome traditional practices in order to overcome the severe social and economical crisis the country is in.
